If you are between 19 and 26 years old, the International Camp Counselor Program – Summer Work and Travel (ICCP-SW&T) by YMCA Colombia is for you.
For 9 to 12 weeks, you’ll have the opportunity to work at a Summer Camp in the United States, immerse yourself in an intercultural environment, improve your English communication skills, develop leadership abilities, and make friends from around the world. This life-changing experience will stay with you forever.

Which role can you participate in?
Camp Counselor
A leader responsible for supervising, planning, and leading recreational, educational, artistic, adventure, outdoor, indoor, and sports activities.
A Camp Counselor builds legacies by facing challenges, working hard, and being a role model through their social-emotional skills and teamwork.
Support Staff
A trained and motivated student who supports the camp in ensuring it remains safe, clean, organized, and ready for summer.
Support Staff are in charge of tasks in areas such as maintenance, kitchen, cleaning, gardening, among others.
Requirements

Age (Preferred): 19 to 26 years old
- English Level: Conversational 🗣
- Availability: Minimum of 9 weeks between May and August 📅
- Trainings: Attend local orientations and the ICCP-SW&T National Training 🎓
- Community Service: Complete at least 60* hours before traveling 💪
- Certifications (Preferred): First Aid and CPR 🚑
- Support Staff: Must be a full-time university student in an in-person program, currently between the third and eighth semester 🎒

What’s Not Included:
- Consular Fees: $185 USD
- Transportation to visa appointments
- Transportation to the in-person National Training at Campamento Bochica YMCA
- Domestic and international airfare
- Personal Expenses: Recommended $1,500 USD
- SEVIS Fee (Student Exchange Visitor Information System): $100 USD
Interviews
First Interview
Free- Assessment of your English level and suitability by local delegates.
Second Interview
(non-refundable)- Evaluation of experience and eligibility by YMCA Colombia.
Tercera entrevista
Free- Assessment of compatibility between you and your future camp.

Regular
- If this is your first time joining directly through YMCA Colombia and you are not part of any current partnership.
Partnership
- If you access the program through one of our active partnerships.
YMCA Volunteer
- If you apply through your local YMCA and provide certification as a recognized (triangulated) volunteer.
